Futaba was started in which it is Edo era 270 years ago. Futaba serve Chushichi-meshi that is the one of five famous Japanese meal. I have enjoy it several times. Please try it.
About Futaba
Futaba was established in 1748. Å part of these buildingis designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. The exterior of the building has a traditional Japanese feel. There is also a tranquil Japanese garden behind the building.

It’s a 5-minute walk from Ogawamachi Station along the street. Then you can see it left hand.
About Chushichi-meshi
Chusihimeshi is one of five famous Japanese meal. It is a rice bowl with some condiments. Rice is sorked in original soup. It has a simple taste that evokes Japan.

Story
It was created by Chushichi Yagi who was 8th oner sheff about 150 years ago. Chushichi was asked by some regular customer to create a meal with Zen image. He was one of the last samurai and had great talent not only in martial arts but also in calligraphy. The finished meal matched his image of the dish, so he named it Chushichimeshi. Since then, the traditional taste has been preserved.
Yamaoka Tesshu played a key role in transforming Japan at the end of the Edo erra.
